ASAT has recently increased our efforts to become a more active presence on X. Twitter’s easy to access features allow users to repost and share content that will aid in ASAT’s mission to share high-quality information about autism and its treatment. With the majority of Twitter’s audience being younger users, it allows ASAT’s content to be shared with new professionals or first-time parents, throughout the autism community.
A popular feature of Twitter is the use of hashtags. Hashtags are words or phrases put into Tweets that help categorize and show other Tweets of the same nature when searched. By clicking or tapping on a hashtag, Twitter will show you other users that have also tweeted, using that same hashtag. As a result, this facilitates the reposting and sharing of the Tweet. We hope to see ASAT’s frequently used hashtag # StickwithScience trend and to expand upon the community searching for information related to evidence-based treatment.
Our tweets include information about our monthly publication, Science in Autism Treatment, and share both new and past content. Hashtags such as # WebsiteWednesdays and # FlashbackFridays have also been created to guide readers and spotlight previously published articles that were also reposted on our social media pages. You are encouraged to reply, retweet, favorite, and tag other users to help others engage with our content. We hope to continue to expand upon our Twitter audience, as well as our other social media pages such as Instagram and Facebook.
We hope you can help us make our Twitter page more successful and visible. Here are a few things you can do to support this effort:
- Follow ASAT on X.
- Tweet about ASAT and our offerings and resources. In fact, any page on the ASAT website can be tweeted.
- Encourage your social contacts to follow ASAT on Twitter.
- Retweet ASAT tweets that may be relevant to your followers. Help make important ASAT content go viral.
- Use trending hashtags # StickwithScience and # ScienceMatters to help us reach a broader audience.
- Also follow us on Instagram and Facebook and share those pages with your family and friends.
