Examples of Effective Instructional Methods
ASAT is featuring these short videos to illustrate what applied behaviour analysis (ABA) intervention looks like in practice. We focus on ABA-based interventions here because they are the best documented form of effective instruction for individuals with autism, and have been endorsed by a number of state and federal agencies, including the U.S. Surgeon General and the New York State Department of Health. There are many different ways to implement ABA-based interventions, and only a qualified clinician making databased decisions can determine whether a specific procedure is effective for a specific individual with autism.
