Our heartfelt thanks to Anthony Marro and his team at The Goose American Bistro & Bar who recently raised $600 for ASAT. On April 2, 2023, the Goose, located in Darien, Connecticut, hosted a full day, in-house fundraiser for ASAT in which 10% of the diners’ bills was donated to ASAT.

By way of background, we are very fortunate that Lori Mastrogiacomo of Gold Coast Children’s Learning Center, a former volunteer with ASAT and a longtime sponsor, administers a program in the same building as the Goose and suggested an event at a restaurant to support ASAT. She said:

“I am always happy to support ASAT as this organization does such important work supporting families, educators, and medical professionals as they weed through all the claims to identify what really works. The abundant resources that ASAT publishes month after month are helpful to professionals and parents alike, particularly families of children who are newly diagnosed. I firmly believe that promoting access to effective treatment as quickly as possible helps put children on the path to successful learning and ultimately realizing their fullest potential.”

The brunch was attended by Gold Coast staff members and their families, community members including local businesses, and families served by Gold Coast. Gold Coast staff provided bubble machines to entertain kids on the patio and handheld toys to help with waiting for food to arrive!  Children’s menus with photos were on hand to support independent ordering.

Thank you, Goose Bistro & Bar and Gold Coast Children’s Center, LLC! Fundraising efforts like these not only support ASAT financially, but more importantly, further our mission to promote awareness and share evidence-based information with the public.  For more information about the Goose Bistro & Bar, please visit their website and follow them on Facebook. And of course, thank you to all the restaurant goers who helped raise this money by visiting Goose Bistro & Bar on April 2nd.

If you are a restaurant owner or manager, you may be interested in hosting a similar event on behalf of ASAT. We can provide your materials to support this effort such as graphics that can be used in signage as well as check stuffers. ASAT is committed to highlighting our participating businesses via ASAT’s website, Facebook page, and monthly e-newsletter that is distributed to over 13,000 subscribers.
