Association for Science in Autism Treatment

In an effort to reach a wider audience of professionals, ASAT maintains an active page on LinkedIn, the world’s largest professional online networking site! We are excited to join over 500 million LinkedIn members from over 200 different countries, to showcase the vital work that we do.

LinkedIn will help us achieve several of our strategic goals as an organization. This platform will give us a new way to share content that professionals want to see and share with others, which will help us to expand our global reach and influence. Specifically, we aim to connect with like-minded professionals who share our passion for ensuring that people with autism and their families can access safe and effective interventions and supports, as well as organizations that promote and develop evidence-based practices for children and adults with autism. Our posts will also include announcements about our Externship or other collaboration opportunities.

We hope that by following us, you know that you’re joining the efforts of a professional organization dedicated to the best that science has to offer. We denounce misinformation and misrepresentation of autism and work tirelessly to reduce the impact that ineffective “fad” treatments have on families. We would be delighted if you shared your decision to follow us on LinkedIn so that your professional community knows that you also believe in these values.

LinkedIn will also allow us to share our monthly publication, Science in Autism Treatment, including all of its rich content, with a broader audience. We look forward to using LinkedIn to share our timely and accessible content about advancements in autism research and practice, such as research synopses, treatment summaries, and interviews with families and professionals.

We hope you can help us make this page a successful part of our mission – it takes a village! Here are a few things you can do to expand our efforts. Each of these steps requires only a few small actions and only a few minutes of your time but leads to enormous outcomes! Please join our mission by following the steps below:

    1. Follow ASAT on LinkedIn.
    2. Share our ASAT Online LinkedIn page with your colleagues, co-workers, supervisees, and students, and encourage them to follow us as well! When telling your colleagues about something you found on our LinkedIn page, remember to say, “I read it on ASAT’s LinkedIn page! You should follow them, too!”
    3. Invite your LinkedIn connections to follow us (detailed instructions below).
    4. Share the content of our posts either on LinkedIn or other social media platforms that you use!
To invite your LinkedIn connections:

  • Go to our LinkedIn page.
  • Click “Follow” if you haven’t done so already! It should say “Following.”
  • Click “More” and “Send in a message.”
  • Add the names of your colleagues – as soon as you start typing the first letter, you should see a list of names, and you can just select as many as you’d like!
  • If you want to, write something like “If you want to stay up to date with Science in Autism Treatment, follow this page!” or “Follow ASAT for all the latest news, information, and science related to autism and its treatment!”
  • Press “Send!” It’s that easy.

Help us to continue our mission of reaching more international and underserved communities, helping individuals with autism across the globe, as well as their family members and the professionals who serve them, to learn about and access safe and effective treatment options.
