For nearly 30 years, we have worked to ensure that individuals with autism, their families, and the professionals who support them can make informed decisions based on what research has shown to be effective and equally important, what has not.
Navigating the vast and often overwhelming landscape of autism interventions can be daunting. Families and providers are frequently confronted with conflicting information, hype, exaggerated claims, and treatments that lack meaningful scientific support. ASAT exists to bring clarity to that landscape. We are committed to promoting accurate, balanced, and accessible information so that individuals with autism receive interventions that truly improve quality of life.
Our vision is a world in which all individuals with autism — regardless of age, severity, geographic location, or financial resources — have equitable access to high-quality, evidence-based interventions. Professional Sponsorship Tenets
ASAT Professional Sponsors affirm their support for the following principles:
- All autism treatments should be guided by the best available scientific evidence.
- Service providers, across all disciplines, have a responsibility to rely on science-based treatments
- Providers should help consumers distinguish validated treatments from those lacking support.
- Consumers should be informed that treatments without scientific support should be approached with great caution, if at all.
- Clinical decisions should be guided by objective data and informed by client and family input at every stage of intervention.
