We would like to give Dr. Karrie Lindeman and Tracey Bovell from Touro College, a big heartfelt thanks from ASAT. We are excited to announce that their dedication to our mission and generosity led to the creation of an exciting fitness class, Fitness for a Cause! This will be a donation-based class and all donations will directly support ASAT’s work.
Tracey Bovell, a Strong Nation instructor, is sharing her expertise and love for fitness with us. She will lead us in an uplifting virtual fitness class September 3rd, 2020 at 5:00 PM EST. This class is open to anyone ready to get their heart rate pumping. Get your mat, towel, and water ready! All are encouraged to attend! Read more about Tracey’s motivation to support ASAT:
“As an Autism momma, the work that ASAT does is pivotal; not only do they provide information about evidence-based practices which are a lifeline to parents who at times may feel like they are lost, but they continue to create new content each and every month. As a future BCBA, it’s a pleasure to give back to an institution that continues to inspire those of us who want to provide the treatments ASAT promotes!!”
Fitness for a Cause is yet another exciting event that Dr. Lindeman and Touro College students have organized and executed in support of ASAT. In the past, they have raised $1,075 in their fundraiser Cookies for ASAT. Fundraisers like Cookies for ASAT are essential to ASAT as they provide the support we need to continue to promote higher standards of care, treatment, and education for individuals with autism. I asked Dr. Lindeman why she supports ASAT:
“ASAT is a lifeline for many parents, educators, and supporters of children with autism. I have seen my students utilize the website both within the classroom and in their work lives. Supporting ASAT has become a way we come together in our program as a community, supporting a group that does so much every day. We look forward to an ongoing relationship with ASAT and challenging our graduating class to find new ways to fundraise as their final task as Touro students.”
ASAT is a not for profit organization run by volunteers and a half-time director. Since ASAT was established in 1998 its efforts have been set on being a resource for families in search of treatments for autism that are safe and based in science. In a world of fads, falsehoods, and dangerous treatments, ASAT is a necessary resource upon which families, educators, and medical practitioners can always rely.
Donate to help us reach our goal of $1,000 and join us for an invigorating class supporting a spirited cause.
