ASAT volunteer - Brizida Vinjau Beginning last year, we are formally showcasing some of the wonderful volunteers who share their time and talent with ASAT. In this fourth installment, we feature Brizida Vinjau, MS, BCBA, who resides in Toronto and serves in two important capacities: Managing Editor of Science in Autism Treatment and as a member of our Proofreading Team, helping us prepare new content for publication month after month.

Brizida first joined ASAT as an Extern back in 2018. From the outset, Brizida was a well-liked and collegial member of our Externship, humble yet incredibly productive. Brizida was instrumental in helping us develop the Research Module (this is one of seven modules that every Externs completes as part of the ASAT Externship experience). Brizida also created a task analysis for writing new treatment summaries. This early work paved the way for the very productive year we have had this year, publishing nearly 10 treatment summaries. She was instrumental in revising the Writing and Proofreading Guidelines, which included completing an analysis of common grammatical errors and typos made in previous SIAT issues and incorporating the results of that analysis into the guidelines. Brizida also worked on efforts to solicit donations from various businesses and enterprises as part of our online auction held a few years ago.

Based on our very positive experiences with Brizida, it was clear that she was the type of individual who could make ongoing contributions to ASAT upon completion of her 150-hour Externship with us. We invited her to serve as Managing Editor of Science in Autism Treatment. This was shortly after ASAT decided to shift from a quarterly to a monthly schedule of publication. She has done an incredible job laying out the newsletter and learning the ins and outs of Mail Chimp. If fact, Brizida can be credited for producing 50 issues of Science in Autism Treatment, and, if you do that math, that comprises over hundreds of articles shared with thousands and thousands of subscribers worldwide!

Finally, as shown below, Brizida has been a frequent contributor to Science in Autism Treatment, authoring or co-authoring articles on a broad spectrum of articles. I anticipate that she will continue to write for us. Brizida is reliable, hardworking, collaborative, and detail-oriented, and we are very fortunate to have her as part of our Publication team.

When she is not sharing her time and talents with ASAT, Brizida works as a behavior analyst at a children’s treatment center near Toronto, Ontario and is also a part-time professor. When she isn’t working, Brizida enjoys exploring little cafes and bakeries with family and friends and loves long walks by the lake with her dog.

Thank you, Brizida!
